The Kazungula Town Council has received the completed solar street lighting project along the M10 Road, a development expected to greatly enhance security and improve night-time mobility for residents and road users.
Funded under the Zambia Devolution Support Programme (ZDSP) at a cost of K1,783,500, the project involved the supply and installation of modern solar-powered streetlights. The works were carried out by Imperial Contractors and were officially completed and handed over to the Council a few weeks ago.
The installation of these lights marks a major improvement in the district’s safety landscape. The illuminated stretch of the M10 Road has already begun contributing to reduced crime risks, safer evening travel, and improved visibility for pedestrians and motorists. The lighting also supports nearby businesses that operate into the late hours, creating a safer and more vibrant night-time environment.
This development reflects Kazungula Town Council’s continued commitment to upgrading essential public infrastructure and ensuring that residents benefit from a secure and well-lit community.
The successful completion and handover of the project highlight the district’s steady progress toward enhanced public safety and improved service delivery.
